- Signs to look for:

- Sudden weakness, paralysis, or numbness of the face, arm or leg on one
- side of the body
-
- The corner of the mouth may droop
-
- Loss or slurring of speech
-
- Sudden headache
-
- Possible confusion or unconsciousness

- Sudden fall
-
- Impaired vision
-
- Strong, slow pulse
-
- Pupils of the eyes may differ in size
-
- Difficulty breathing, chewing, talking
-
- Loss of bladder and/or bowel control
-

- Immediate Treatment:
-
- 1. Call for emergency medical services.
-
- 2. Check and maintain an open airway, restore breathing and circulation
-
- 3. Place the victim on his weak side so secretions can drain from his mouth.
-
- 4. Keep the victim warm, quiet and calm.
-
- 5. Apply cold cloths to the head.
-
- 6. Do not give any food or fluids.
